The Smok Novo is an extremely small, 5th-pocket friendly, stylish little pod system. All of the edges are rounded on the device, making it very comfortable to hold and quite a pleasure to vape. As with most pod systems, there's not a whole lot to really talk about, so let's jump right into it.
Device: The battery portion of the Novo is extremely small. I tuck it into my 5th pocket and hardly know it is there. All of the colorways have a cobra pattern and, in my opinion, look really nice. The silver accent pieces along the sides, bottom, and top really set off the design. On the front is an very, very, very small LED indicator for your battery. I have to say, I haven't really noticed it changing color, other than to red, letting me know I need to charge. If there is some other indication letting me know when the batter is getting about halfway, I don't know about it, but I wish there was. On one side of the device is the USB charge port, and the Novo does support pass-through vaping. Pods are inserted into the top and are held in by a press-fit situation. Airflow comes through the battery to the top of the device and through the pod. This is a draw-activated device, so there are no buttons to be found.
Pods: The Novo pods are small as well and have a nice curvature at the top for comfortable lip placement while vaping. The fill port on the side utilizes a rubber flap, typical of many pod systems. While the flap system works, it is not my favorite style, but it works. The fill port is a decent size, but a needle-tipped bottle is going to work best here. The airflow is very nice and definitely MTL here. There is a small hole at the bottom to let the airflow though, but it also tends to seep condensated liquid. The seepage is not major and I haven't had any major leaks to speak of, but it's worth mentioning, because you will need to wipe out the top of the battery occasionally. Flavor, while not the greatest I've had, is actually quite good and the pods seem to last about an average of 3-5 refills. The bottom portion of the pod is clear, so you can easily see your juice level while looking at it. My main issue here though is I wish I didn't have to remove the pod to see how much juice I have left. I mean, you have to remove it to refill anyway, but it would be nice if there was some way to determine when you needed to refill without having to remove the pod.
Performance: I have really enjoyed using the Novo. It's a great, stealthy little device that looks pretty stylish. Battery life is pretty good and it charges up fairly quickly (around an hour). The draw on it is very nice for a MTL device and the flavor and longevity of the pods are pretty good. Aside from the slight seeping out of the airflow port at the bottom of the pod, I don't have anything bad to say about this device performance wise.
Final Thoughts
Pros
Cons
The Novo is just a well performing pod-based device. While it has a few cons, I believe the pros outweigh those. I haven't had any major issues while using it, and it has performed well for me for the time I have been using it. I will likely continue to use it as my cubicle stealth vape device.
